THE MANCHESTER woman who reportedly murdered her husband, Constable Damien Blair, during a domestic dispute at their home in May, is to reappear in the Home Circuit Court on Monday.

Kacey-Ann Blair, who was remanded, had her matter rescheduled on Thursday when she appeared before Justice Leighton Pusey.

The 33-year-old is facing charges of murder, unauthorised possession of firearm, and unauthorised possession of ammunition.

According to a police report, about 6:25 p.m. on May 29, the couple was at their home in Somerset, Manchester, when they had a dispute in which Kacey is alleged to have used her husband’s weapon to shoot him.

The wounded cop reportedly ran from the house and collapsed at his gate, where his wife allegedly used a hammer to inflict further injuries to his head.

Found with wrist cut

On their arrival, the police reportedly found Kacey locked inside a room with a cut to her wrist.

The couple was taken to the Mandeville Regional Hospital, where the policeman was pronounced dead while his wife was admitted in stable condition.

Following investigations, Kacey was arrested and charged, and her matter was subsequently transferred to the Home Circuit Court on a voluntary bill of indictment.

Next Monday, when the case is mentioned, it is expected that the court will be informed whether a forensic psychiatric evaluation, which was ordered by the judge, has been done.

On the last occasion when the matter was mentioned, the judge was informed that arrangements were being made to conduct the evaluation on October 2.

The evaluation was ordered after Blair’s attorney, Tamika Harris, informed the court that she had been receiving psychiatric treatment at the Mandeville Regional Hospital prior to the murder of her husband.

The accused woman spent 13 days in hospital after the murder.
