14-y-o charged with attempted rape, burglary, wounding with intent

A 14- year-old boy has been arrested and charged following an incident along Crawford Street, Mount Salem, St James, on Tuesday.

The boy has been charged with attempted rape, burglary and wounding with intent.

Reports from the Montego Bay police are that about 11:40 p.m., the boy gained entry into the victim’s home where he attempted to rape her. A struggle ensued and he used a knife to inflict several stab wounds to her body and head. After she made an alarm, he ran from the home.

On Wednesday, a citizen arrested the boy and escorted him to the police station.

He was charged on Thursday after a question-and-answer session.

His court date is being finalised.

Traffic changes for Sangster Airport

MBJ Airports Limited (“MBJ”), operators of Sangster International Airport, has made some temporary changes for the flow of traffic that will come into effect today. The changes will impact the flow of vehicular traffic to the departures and arrivals areas of the airport.

According to MBJ, this temporary change is being made to alleviate the congestion landside.

“We seek the cooperation of all airport users to be guided by the directional signage and personnel where applicable as we seek to enhance the airport experience and improve service levels,” it said in a release yesterday.
