Rookies of the Rings: Lanae-Tava Thomas

A year delayed but not denied. Lanae-Tava Thomas’ path to her first major senior championships for Jamaica has been a crowning moment in her debut year as a professional. She hopes, however, that it is also the beginning of a successful career.

Thomas completed the transfer of allegiance from the United States to Jamaica, but not in time to be considered for the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. However, she has put her efforts into making improvements this year in not only getting the Olympic standard, but finishing second in the 200m at the National Championships with a personal-best time of 22.34 seconds to punch her ticket to Paris. Now she is ready to make her impact in her first major global championships.
