In the first Olympics post the exploits of five-time Olympian Alia Atkinson, Sabrina Lyn is hoping she can build on a most endearing legacy by representing the young talent coming from Jamaica well.

Lyn comes to Paris through a tough battle to qualify, having made improvements in her first year at Louisana State University.

The 50m freestyle, while not her best event, has been the one that has granted her passage to the Olympics.

Her 25.82-second clocking at this year’s Carifta Aquatics Championships makes her the second fastest Jamaican of all time in the event.

Only Atkinson, 25.47, the national record holder in the event, has gone faster.
