‘WE ARE COMING TO GET YOU’
The Police High Command is warning men from Crescent Road in Kingston believed to be behind Sunday’s deadly attack in which three persons were slaughtered and five injured to turn themselves in to the authorities.
“Wherever you are, we are coming to get you. Wherever you hide, wherever you run, we are going to find you because those in our society who are for law and order far outnumber you and your guns that you think you have, and we are going find you, and we are going to dig you out if we have to, and we are going to ensure that you are brought to justice,” said Senior Superintendent of Police Damion Manderson, the commander for St Andrew South.
“You can save yourself all of that by turning up at any police station of your choice, go to any member of the clergy if you wish, or go to your lawyer and turn yourself in.”
He added that although the perpetrators may be celebrating this evening, it is guaranteed that their days are numbered.
Among those killed were Kingston 13 residents Kemar Hardware, 35, the son of well-known singer Singing Melody and a bar owner of Steven Lane, and Steven Myers, 19, of Harvey Road. Also dead is 63-year-old Ricardo Baker.
Official reports from the police are that about 11:40 p.m., the men were among a group of persons on the roadway when armed men travelling on foot opened gunfire at the group, hitting all eight persons before escaping.
