Juliet Holness story full of sensationalism

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I found it nothing short of shameful the way Television Jamaica (TVJ) handled a story it carried last week Friday which featured Juliet Holness, the member of parliament for East Rural St Andrew. TVJ has let down the standards of journalism in Jamaica.

The so-called news story that it ran detailing travel requirements for Mrs Holness turned out to be a farce. How could that story pass editorial scrutiny? It must have been a slow news day.

I yearn for the day we actually go back to real journalism in Jamaica and not sensationalism.

I was so happy that she was able to defend herself and present her side of the story, something that TVJ did not give her the chance to do.
