Justice delayed is justice denied

The donation and personal visit made by Prime Minister Andrew Holness to Tahjay Rowe and his mother was a good and refreshing gesture, on his part. What is not a good and refreshing thing, however, is that, after the court saw it fit to award Tahjay's family $26 million, in 2015, to date, the family has not received this sum, because the Government opted to appeal the ruling.
I have no issue with the State mounting an appeal, which, is its right. However, for the Appeal Court to not have dealt speedily with the Government's challenge to the 2015 ruling shows contempt for Tahjay, his mother and his grandmother. Tahjay's condition requires a great deal of care and medical supplies to keep him stable, comfortable, and well. Without adequate funds to do this, the family has been under financial stress, in addition to the great emotional and physical stress that they have had to endure, over the past 15 years.
