Untimely demise of Rev Larius Lewis

THE EDITOR, Madam:

It is with great sadness that I write this letter to the editor and also to my Anglican family. I was browsing my Facebook page and saw the heartbreaking news of Rev Larius Lewis, priest and rector of St Paul’s Anglican Church in Chapelton, Clarendon, found dead at the church rectory where he resided.

I am a member of the Anglican Church and I had the opportunity to have been blessed at the Holy Eucharist at St Andrew Parish Church, where Rev Lewis presided as the celebrant and preacher as young curate second in command to the rector of the church.

His sermon was very touching and full of inspiration to guide you to the Holy Spirit where you find hope in life. He was a very spiritual leader who always gives the nation a message of hope and the way to Christ for his sacramental healing through the commemoration of the Lord’s Supper.

I was elated when he became a deacon and then moved up the ranks to become a priest. I was longing for him to become a bishop one day. But God had other plans. On September 26 he transitioned, leaving all of us heartbroken and in mourning.
