Commending Jamaica Library Service

THE EDITOR, Madam:

The Jamaica Library Service is a silent giant of strength promoting reading and literacy in Jamaica. Indeed, they are providing excellent services despite limited resources.

One can walk off the streets into a wealth of hospitality and a cohesive environment for learning. There is easy access to the many branches of the JLS islandwide.

Special considerations are given in the accommodation for those with intellectual challenges. The administrative team provides, over decades, special classes in training blind patrons to use computer technology.

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission proudly displays creative writing exhibitions in the halls of the Jamaica Library Service. There are always poster displays with information provided for a quick read.

Thanks to the JLS for their over 75 years of national service of enriching the Jamaican people.
