“What was the point of the UK [royal family] visiting Jamaica recently? What was the point of entertaining that visit if these concerns were not discussed and resolved?” – @k.witter

“This does not surprise me, they do not want no black man in their programmes; use us for their survival, but nothing more.” – @skilld.dw

“And these are the same ppl for whom millions are spent to host state dinners. I’ve never been able to justify why we idolise these people, given past injustices and perpetuation thereof.” – @dream4ann

“Left the people dem and dem country nuh. ‘Cause unuh know we ain’t welcome in his world. Just accept it, that we will never be a part of the wider society and live life as how it is suppose to be lived. Among people who care about you.” – @adanachin

“This isn’t such a bad thing, as it would only worsen the brain drain we have now. How about us demanding we get reparations in the form of schools, infrastructure, and public parks environmental restoration and resiliency, as well as places for Jamaicans to enjoy the outdoors? Jamaica will only be worse if all the good people leave and get killed in mass shooting, or from some new disease in the First World.” – @enadrellim

“They hate black people who built this country with their sweat, blood and life. Their museums are still packed with artefacts that don’t belong to them, but they still lay claim to it. It is despicable how blacks are still being treated here.” – @Doreen Scott

“They no longer need labourers, bus drivers, garbage men, etc. When they needed to build Britain, over 400,000 Caribbean natives were taken in; now they are even trying to deport them from the only life they know.” – @Noel Phinn

“Me did seh from the get-go, when they mentioned the Commonwealth in their Brexit talks, they meant Canada, Australia and New Zealand and India, because of the trade power. But nope, some Caribbean people still voted Brexit. See it ya now.” – @Soraya Harrison

“It [is] all about racism; why would this surprise anyone?” – @Sharon Black

“So the Caribbean and African countries should tighten their own academic exchange and student visa and employment visa programmes with each other, and do it better than whatever the UK [is] trying. Stretch your hands out to each other and turn your backs on the closed fist. Also, maintain good relations with your diaspora in the UK, so they will want to stretch their hands out, too, when they get the opportunity. Look into other regions of the world to partner with. Like the Middle East. Try something new.” – @Michelle Bajraktarević
