Thanks for saving my son

THE EDITOR, Madam:

“Give praise when praise is due” goes an old saying.

On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, while en route to Jamaica College, my son stopped at Juici Patties in Liguanea. He was travelling with his aunt. My son reportedly passed out while inside Juici and got a blow to his head.

On spot, however, was a Guardsman security officer, who I later found out was trained in first aid, and a soldier. The alert Guardsman employee, assigned to Juici, quickly got into action.

I am told that the soldier, who was close by, quickly lifted the fallen child and put him into his aunt’s vehicle and had them on their way to the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) in a jiffy.

The teams in A&E and Paediatrics at the UHWI adeptly attended to my son who was released on Wednesday evening. The following day, one of the doctors called to check on Jeremy’s progress. Kudos!

Praises and thank you are indeed due – from the first responders at Juici Patties, namely the Guardsman security officer and the soldier, to the teams at UHWI.

On behalf of my wife, sister-in-law and my son, thank you so much.
