Waiting for months for NCB to credit hotel incidental charges

THE EDITOR, Madam:

In August of this year, I was fortunate to be selected as representative of my organisation to attend a conference in Canada.

The trip went well and after a week it was time to head back to Jamaica. The hotel where we were staying was very nice and accommodating, however, I had to pay an incidental charge just in case I get ahead of myself in spending.

I paid from two separate cards – one from Scotiabank and the other from NCB. I was informed by the hotel that the charges will be reversed after I check out.

I checked out of the hotel on Friday, August 19; the charges on my Scotiabank card were reversed on September 9. This has not been the case with NCB, we are at end of December and I am not seeing funds credited to my account. I am weary of making calls to the bank as all I am hearing are empty promises that the funds will be in my account.

Banks should realise that customers love efficiency. Maybe NCB can take a page from Scotiabank and improve their customer service?
