Negril water crisis bad for tourism
THE EDITOR, Madam:
My wife and I have been taking our vacations in Negril since 1997. We just returned from our 17th trip on April 6. We stay at a lovely place called Country Country and have always loved it.
This last trip, we were unfortunate in that the water was turned off most nights, although at varying times, so difficult to plan for. I have read about this issue on negril.com, a website for travellers like us.
From what I have read since we have returned, it seems like this issue is not receiving much priority from the government and that this could have been prevented. But now it appears that things will still take up to two years to get resolved.
We have many friends that vacation in Mexico. We have always returned to Negril but now believe that we may need to reconsider this in light of the current water crisis in Negril.
This is most unfortunate and is breaking our hearts. Please find a quicker solution if at all possible.
