Fun in the Son was memorable

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I enjoyed attending Best Dressed Chicken’s ‘Fun in the Son’ concert last Sunday to celebrate its 65th anniversary. Although I’m not a devout Christian, the event’s inclusive and welcoming spirit resonated with me.

The organisation was impeccable, making entry hassle-free, and the atmosphere was positively charged. Highlights for me were the performances by Kevin Downswell and TobyMac, whose energy and messages uplifted everyone present. It was a testament to the community spirit and joy that such events can foster. I’m particularly grateful that Best Dressed Chicken chose to mark their milestone by giving back to the community with this free, feel-good event.

It’s a reminder of the power of community and shared joy in these challenging times. Regarding the criticisms directed at Kirk Franklin’s appearance, I believe it’s important to remember the Biblical principle of “come as you are”.

It’s essential to recognise that Christianity is not about outward appearances but about living a life of goodness and kindness. Judging someone based on their attire contradicts the teachings we cherish. It was a memorable event.
