Last week Thursday evening, the Cabana pool at the Spanish Court Hotel in New Kingston was transformed into a regal green, blue and white venue as the Sagicor family, clients and members of the business community gathered to formally welcome and congratulate the new president and CEO of Sagicor Group Jamaica, Christopher Zacca.

With the cocktail party in full swing, the three top bosses of the group Sagicor Group — R. Danny Williams, Richard Byles and Zacca — made their rounds, sharing laughter, memories and drinks.

Taking on the mantle as chairman next month, Byles noted in his short address that Zacca will carry on the baton well, and promised to offer him support in any way possible. “Sometimes we have fallen short, but we have risen to the occasion. This underpays Chris’ management style,” said Byles.

Zacca expressed thanks to the two men who have left a great legacy for him to build on. “You have built something remarkable, and I could not be more pleased and honoured to be among the company of you both,” he said.

Zacca went on to express his commitment to continuing the tradition of excellence and upholding the values of service and integrity that started with the company from its inception. “I give you my commitment that I will continue Sagicor’s tradition of breakthrough innovation, using technology to enhance how we deliver our products and services to you,” he said.
