Firing up on the terrace of the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre this morning, the culinary extravaganza that is PAN 2017, was launched. Sponsors and supporters gathered to celebrate the event that for 12 years has been changing lives and embracing the Jamaican spirit.

The Caribbean Broilers (CB) PAN 2017championship promises to again be an electrifying series with wonderful surprises and a few twists along the way. When you think of fun, food, and good family entertainment, that's what this year's competition promises.

Jamaica's largest and most exciting food festival, PAN is a must-attend celebration that is more than a competition — it is a means of preserving the country’s pan traditions, while improving the pan industry and encouraging entrepreneurship.

Coming off a high from last year’s undeniably successful staging that left attendees in awe, CB is planning an even bigger, better fun-filled day for the entire family.

Things get started on Saturday August 26 for the region one in St Elizabeth, where competitors from St Elizabeth, Manchester, Clarendon, St James, Westmoreland and Hanover will battle it out to secure their place in the finals.

The action will intensify on Saturday September 30, for region two in the 'home and birthplace of Jerk' — Portland - where competitors from the parishes of Portland, St Mary, St Thomas, St Catherine, Kingston and St Andrew, St Ann and Trelawny will square off.

The winners and first runner-up from each parish will advance to the grand finals, slated for Sunday October 29 in Half-Way Tree, to compete for the coveted PAN title, and over 1.5 million dollars in cash and prizes.

Fasten your seat belts and prepare for this delicious ride!
