Sustainable shoppers are in for a Christmas treat as notable charity thrifting event, Celebrity Closet, returns tomorrow, Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the MINI Jamaica showroom in Kingston.

On hiatus for a year due to the pandemic, the thrifting experience is back for its fourth staging with a bevy of fashionable yet delicately worn goods from celebrities, influencers and friends that will be resold at a reduced cost for charity efforts.

Under the theme: Thrifting For a Cause, this staging of Celebrity Closet has partnered with 876 Volunteer, and proceeds of the event are slated to go to The Angelic Ladies Society, a non-profit focusing on changing the lives of girls in our state care facilities through life skill sessions and empowerment.

Celebrity Closet is a New Wave Jamaica initiative started by Lindsey Lodenquai in 2017 after the birth of her daughter Yara. While counting her blessings, Lodenquai thought to herself, “We have so much, and there is so much excess; why not create an event around thrifting that will give back to the community.”

After a year off, Lodenquai is happy Celebrity Closet is back and shared, “We have a lot in store for people come December 11 at our home Mini Jamaica.”

In addition to finding wearable gems, music will be provided by DJ Heatwave Fatalic, and guests get a chance to test-drive MINI Coopers.
