With great pleasure, I introduce you to Navin and Katerina Chandiramani, a couple described as “a team in marriage and in life”.

She is a businesswoman and he, an international tourism hospitality expert. Both Jamaicans, they live equally between Jamaica and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, where they also have offices.

Their house on two acres in the sought-after affluent residential community of Spring Farm, Montego Bay, has selected an advantageous seat right above the 18th hole Half Moon golf course, with the spectacle of the never-ending, bedazzling 180-degree sea views for miles.

The house was built in the 1970s and purchased by them four years ago. It has undergone an extensive four-month modification exercise, redeeming itself to much applause. But it is the central roofline that has held many captive, with its pointed, unconventional formation, compelling the normally unwilling and behaved to visit without an invitation.

For the few that fortune favours, they are able to enter a fastidiously maintained, cut-stone wall-enhanced, porcelain tiled, white-painted interior, where central interior ceiling lines echo the same sentiments from onlookers as the roof outside.

Typically, a third of our lives is spent sleeping! So bedrooms like these five night-time sanctuaries (with their own bathrooms) are ideal for the passing of all that time. Living and dining rooms exit in the swimming pool entertainment area, with its travertine (marble-like) stone floor. The island-counter kitchen craves your attention as you feast your eyes on the turquoise hue cedar cupboards harmonising with the turquoise sea peeping through glass windows with surrounding white-shade quartz countertops.

But wait! What do I see in the midst of the garden? Yet another swimming pool! This one with its unusual shape, with water spilling over its infinity edge. Double delight is all I can say.

There is a porte-cochère (a drive-thru roofed entrance at the front door) joining a driveway with two separate, gated road entrances.

We thank the Chandiramanis for their warm invitation and hospitality, allowing us through their dream home.

Here, you are able to lose your mind and, at the same time … come to your senses.
