Marking 60 years of diplomatic relations between Jamaica and India, Ram Nath Kovind, president of India, visited our island last week. In honour of his visit and with Jamaica also celebrating 60 years of independence this year, Governor General Sir Patrick Allen and Lady Allen hosted a state dinner last Tuesday that saw dignitaries and well-wishers showing up in their fashionable best.
