Newly sworn-in president of the Broward Bar Association in Florida, Jamaican-American attorney Alison Smith, was fêted at a gala staged by the voluntary organisation at the Ritz Carlton Hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach. A partner at Weiss Serota Helfman Cole and Bierman, Smith is the first black female president in the organisation’s 97-year history. Dressed the nines, Something Extra had no writs against the Jamaican-American legal fraternity that came out in full force to celebrate one of their own. Enjoy these highlights.
