In celebration of Jamaica’s 60th year of Independence, Appleton Estate launched a new premium blend of rums that have been hand-selected over the last six decades of Jamaica’s Independence, dubbed Appleton Estate Decades.
The elegant affair staged inside The Sunken Garden of Hope Botanic Gardens last Monday was hosted by Jean-Philippe Beyer, managing director of J Wray & Nephew Limited and Dr Joy Spence, the newly appointed tourism brand ambassador for Jamaica and master blender at Appleton Estate, doubled as a charity auction for bottle number 1962 (only 1962 bottles were made) which was won by Ka-el Geewax, at a winning bid price of US$16,000. Here’s a Gleaner Lifestyle look at Decades.
