David Bailey is transforming the way we see fitness
Fitness is not a sprint. That’s the common refrain David Bailey uses while motivating his clients to achieve their best body and mindset for wellness.
“I like to keep my clients motivated in numerous ways, like giving workout challenges with incentives; advising them that not everyone gets results at the same rate; reminding them of their objective for training; and of course, keeping the workouts unpredictable,” he told Lifestyle.
Bailey was always a fan of health and fitness, engaging in track and field from an early age. It helped that he found support in his family, particularly his sister, who continues to be one of his biggest motivators.
With the goal of doing well in athletics always fresh in his mind, he elevated his approach to pragmatic and inspiring heights. Noting that he doesn’t have a structured workout time, he gets in a session each day whenever he has free time.
“Working out in the morning is best for me. My work sessions will go up to an hour and are a cross between bodybuilding and high-intensity interval training. So, some sessions are purely about weights, and there are those that eliminate the element of weights. One session might even be cardio-centred, jogging from point A to B,” he highlighted.
In the food department, Bailey aims to eat three meals per day; his diet is mostly plant-based. “I don’t consume meat and limit the intake of processed goods. I couldn’t achieve my fitness goals without nutrition,” the trainer revealed.
With his background in physical education, he took his active lifestyle to the gym post-college and hasn’t looked back since. Now a personal trainer for a decade, he has taken his knowledge and wisdom to reshape, restructure and reinspire others to make the most of life and tap into their healthier self.
The profession has thrown him many learning curves along the way, but he remains ready and fit to jump over any hurdle: “I love the hundreds of health benefits associated [with] it. Health is wealth.”
Tracking his clients’ progress, his social media page is dedicated to encouraging them and others to take their health seriously. “My training style is creative and athletic. The best part of being a trainer is assisting clients and seeing them put in the work and get [the] results they need and deserve,” he said.
Going by the moniker, The Fitness Guy, he takes the time to showcase techniques and provide quick and easy workout routines you can do from the comfort of your home. Additionally, he speaks about trends and fads and spreads positive and uplifting information.
