Channelling her Jamaican and British heritage, popular menswear designer Bianca Saunders used comedic legend Oliver Samuels’ ‘90s cultural classic ‘Oliver at Large’ as inspiration for her latest Autumn/Winter 2023 collection dubbed ‘Playwork’, shown at Paris Fashion Week yesterday.

“This collection is very close to my heart! Being able to share stories around my Jamaican culture in an artistic context is an honour,” said Saunders in a social media post. “A special thank you to Oliver Samuels for allowing me to show it in the context of fashion.”

Something Extra can’t help but think about the comedic merriment that took place the first time Oliver travelled abroad. Now look, Oliver has made it to the Parisian runway!
