Bedecked with streams of gorgeous white designs that enveloped the lush greenery of the Sunken Garden in Hope Gardens, Le Champ Brunch enchanted patrons with delectable bites, alluring cocktails, and idyllic photo-worthy backdrops. This was the vision of beauty specialist Shanique Ellington that was brought to life by Galeria Events.

Based on Ellington’s taste and style over the years of having smaller luxe gatherings, she believes the event was a true representation of what she likes. Her home and storefront emulate the same look and feel, so why shouldn’t her event?

When thinking about who to entrust in carrying out her mission, Galeria Events immediately came to mind because the company has a similar taste in decor as hers. “I have been following the designer’s page since she launched, and instantly fell in love because she pays close attention to fine details and uses unique and classy pieces,” Ellington said.

Terrencia Vernon of Galeria Events has been an event designer for almost three years, working with big names such as Usain Bolt and Kasi Bennett, Koffee, Shanice, and Jermaule Adair, better known as Shanzi and Nino. With only three weeks to create this masterpiece, she wasn’t worried. Ellington was detailed, her role was to make the magic happen.

“Shanique has always been one of my biggest supporters and wanted to get me involved in something she was doing. After sending me the proposal and I saw what she had envisioned, I sent her back a mood board and she said it was exactly what she wanted. She wanted to give people value for money. And wanted them to walk in and be transported elsewhere. For me, details really matter. We wanted to bring something new to Jamaica,” Vernon said. Her style is very modern, and she desired to push that narrative in her designs.

Ellington was happy that Vernon brought the vision to life with ease for the event held at Hope Gardens on Sunday. “I felt it was important to have a separate cocktail area to house the first 50 guests and have them in a beautifully decorated space with butler-style appetisers and champagne, courtesy of CPJ, our official sponsor of spirits, while they await the grand entrance,” Ellington told Saturday Living.

Guests walked through a flower tunnel before stepping into the brunch and party area to a beautiful performance from two violinists and a ballet dancer.

Patrons were greeted by an opulent arch which stood as the focal point in the centre of the venue, separating the relaxed lounge experience with makeup and food from the more upbeat partying atmosphere. We could not leave out the premium cabanas available for everyone to sit and enjoy the festivities which ended in, you guessed it, fireworks.

“It’s a new concept I call a ‘Guided Experience Brunch’ which takes the patrons on a journey throughout the event with a different type of decor set up for each section,” Ellington added.

Vernon credits the event creator for having an incredible vision and trusting the process. She was honoured to execute the event in such a unique style. “We wanted everyone to feel that luxury and make memories, whether standing or sitting down in breathtaking decor.” Hoping to be the next best thing, she brought it closer to home by noting how happy she and her team, all women, were able to work with a female powerhouse like Ellington. That’s the beauty of female empowerment.
