Joanna Sinclair and Patrice White join forces for athleisure brand

Arguably, the aim of any wellness journey is to feel good about your physical and nutritional choices. But it would be remiss of us to deny the alluring benefits of looking good, too. With that in mind, two women created and launched a new fashion line this summer with the aim of tipping the scales and changing how we perceive comfort and our bodies.

The fitness fashion brand is the brainchild of two entrepreneurial minds: fashion aficionado Joanna Sinclair and fitness expert Patrice White. The collection, inspired by personal experiences and shared visions, seamlessly blends style with comfort and functionality.

As a well-known personality in the fitness industry, White explained that it had always been a dream of hers to produce her own activewear. She tells Lifestyle, “I wanted to create a brand that reflects my style and meticulous attention to detail in terms of cut, functionality, and support.”

On the other side of the spectrum, leisure is a go-to dress standard for Sinclair, so it was easy for her to jump at the opportunity to merge ideas and skills with her friend of almost two decades.

“Leisurewear is my go-to style, and it was my dream to create a line that offers multifunctional pieces: stylish and comfortable garments suitable for running errands, lounging at home, or even dressing up for a more elegant look.”

The clothing line is manufactured overseas, utilising packaging made from 100 percent recyclable materials, which strives to minimise its environmental impact.

“The leisurewear collection features three vibrant summer colours in addition to the classic black, ensuring a variety of stylish options. The athletic apparel lineup includes leggings, sports bras, biker shorts, and joggers. To complete the ensemble, the must-have bucket hats are available in Saint White Leisure’s signature black and white,” Sinclair said.

This dedication to creating a brand that fosters a great sense of pride among Jamaicans and Caribbean nationals within the diaspora is something that this dynamic duo strives for. Locally owned is one thing, but being an all-female brand, the hope is to promote and strengthen unity among women, embrace diversity, and celebrate unique beauty.

“Resonating with their unique style and cultural identity, Leisure aims to establish a deep connection with its customers, ensuring that their specific needs are met through thoughtfully crafted designs. Each athletic piece is designed to make every woman feel comfortable, confident, and sexy, while ensuring the presence of pockets for added convenience,” White shared.

Since launching on July 1, they are pleased with the excitement and positive feedback. Currently available online in the United States and Jamaica, there are big plans to expand shipping to Canada and New England by the end of this year. Additionally, Saint White Leisure aspires to partner with major retail stores in both countries by the second year of operation.
