One Saturday, Nichol Coleman was on his way to Morant Bay, St Thomas, on a bus when he spotted an angelic passenger in his midst. Despite his attempts to get her attention and start a conversation, Shanice Brown was not in the mood. But his persistence paid off when she finally engaged in a confab with this handsome stranger. Nine years later, Nichol and Shanice went on another trip to a charming destination that involved taking a flight and asking her to be his wife.

Shanice admits that Nichol did make an extra effort to communicate with her on the bus, and she is happy that she eventually responded. “We had a little conversation. My first encounter with him was good,” she told Island Wedding.

During their talk, he found himself drawn to her nice personality. “I could see that she was a very nice person.” This unexpected exchange sparked a new interest and without hesitation, Shanice and Nichol were going on their very first date together.

“We went to Fish Cove Restaurant and Sports Bar in St Thomas and got to know more about each other. It was a great evening,” Shanice recalled. From there, the pair wasted no time in making things official and starting their love journey.

Nichol continues to be captivated by his darling’s enchanting beauty. Additionally, he finds it exciting to witness her independence, care, intelligence and kind heart.

“Shanice is always working for her own money, taking good care of herself and her family at all times. She makes the best decisions. She shares with everyone; and did I mention she is very beautiful? Her smile lights up any room. I love everything about her,” he explained.

When it comes to his personal growth and development, Nichol says she is the reason behind his success. “As a partner, she gives great advice. She helped me to get my dream job and assisted me in saving and purchasing my first car. Nurturing our love, she takes good care of me and our two daughters.”

Shanice expresses that Nichol is a hard-working, ambitious, and independent individual. These are just three attributes that she admires about him the most. “He is dedicated to his job, makes it look easy, and loves it so much. Always striving to be better than his previous self, he sets his goals and accomplishes them. Nichol takes care of his family, both financially and emotionally,” she shared.

Noting that he is rather handsome, she loves that he is jovial and loving. “He is always making me laugh and he is so much fun to be around. I am so lucky to have him by my side. He is so loving; you can see it in his eyes,” she said, adding, “He has supported me in the best way. He loves his family dearly, he gave me two daughters, and he enjoys spending time with us.”

As a couple, they relish spending time at the beach together, listening to the waves and savouring an intimate view of the sea. “We also enjoy nature walks,” Shanice added.

After dating for almost a decade, Nichol asked the love of his life to be his wife with a destination proposal. “We went to The Bahamas to spend Christmas with family. I went to the mall with one of my family members to get the ring and proposed to her before midnight. She was so surprised, she cried,” he recounted.

Shanice was grateful for the support she received from friends and family who made her nuptial dreams a reality. She also made special mention of Tiffy’s Decor and Unions Bridal Boutique.

“From the moment we started planning our wedding, decor was one of the top things on our list. We looked at different decorators and decided to work with Tiffy’s Decor. She understood our vision and was able to bring it to life, and for that we were pleased. Unions Bridal Boutique provided a lovely dress,” Shanice said

On October 14, Shanice and Nichol exchanged their vows in a beautiful ceremony at the Wesleyan Holiness Church in Port Morant, St Thomas. The newly-weds continued the festivities at the reception held at Skervin’s Place in the community of Prospect in the same parish.

The wedding was all that they could’ve hoped for and more. “It was all I could ever dream of, marrying the love of my life,” the groom revealed. Both parties expressed immense joy in making their first walk down the aisle as husband and wife.

For their first dance, they chose to share the spotlight with Ed Sheeran’s Perfect duet, featuring Beyoncé, and I Found Love (Cindy’s Love) by BeBe and CeCe Winans. “The feeling I had at that moment dancing with my husband was joy. It was the best feeling of my life,” Mrs Coleman added.
