Spending the holiday season at home, Jamaican model Brit Knight left London last week to escape the approaching winter chill. She is currently enjoying a successful run, securing numerous e-commerce assignments from prominent British brands. With a noticeable presence on the online platforms of cosmetic company Charlotte Tilbury and fashion retailer ASOS, Knight’s profile and diligent work ethic have earned her lasting client loyalty.

“I remember setting my objectives for the last quarter of the year and manifesting Charlotte Tilbury on my vision board,” Knight shared.

“I used to see the Tilbury booking agents a lot before my first confirmation. They would request to see me often, so I knew they liked something. It was really a matter of timing and an opportunity for them to keep watching as I became fine wine. When they believed I was ready, they started booking me back-to-back. The first confirmation I got I shouted ‘FINALLY’!”

In October, Jamaican model Brit Knight made her debut for the make-up brand, joining British supermodels Kate Moss and Jourdan Dunn as ambassadors. Her introduction took the form of a how-to video showcasing the usage of the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Serum Crystal Elixir, Magic Hydrator Mist, and Magic Cream.

Following that, Brit Knight continued to engage with the brand’s audience by creating a Halloween-themed make-up reel for Charlotte Tilbury’s 6 million Instagram followers. In the video, Knight transformed into a purple-haired ‘Cyber Girl’ to promote Tilbury’s Beautyverse Palette, featuring products like Legendary Lashes Mascara, Pinkgasm Jewel Lips gloss, and The Classic Eyeliner. Subsequent videos showcased Knight highlighting various other Tilbury products.

“The first project I shot with them isn’t yet released but I can promise it’s really fierce!” she shared.

In March, she landed a global Lancôme fragrance alongside Hollywood A-listers Julia Roberts, Zendaya, Isabella Rossellini, and Penelope Cruz.

Shifting the conversation to ASOS, the St Jago High School alum, who won SAINT’s Female Fashion Face of the Caribbean title in 2012, revealed that her collaboration with the London-headquartered brand began in earnest back in September.

“I’ve been shooting with them every other week since then. Sometimes a full day, sometimes half days, it varies on the collection for the day,” Knight explained.

Knight loves the aesthetic of the e-tailer noting, “The styling is always ready-to-wear but really cool girl and I take a lot of inspiration from that.”

Adapting to a long-haul British life has proven relatively easy for her.

“I love the melting pot of the cultures in the city as there are Africans, Europeans, and Jamaicans. I’ve been privileged to learn and adapt a few things from each which has helped to build my character. For instance, I’ve been to a few Nigerian parties and learnt some of their dances and I have been fascinated by the European way of dressing, so my wardrobe has adjusted accordingly, and I’ve never thought I’d say this, but I’ve gotten around to loving a cup of tea.”

Returning to the island for a holiday break and settling into her family home after a year-long series of fashion projects, the model is delighted to be able to celebrate the Yuletide season with loved ones.

“This the longest I’ve ever been away from my family and friends, so my purpose of this trip is centred around spending quality time and getting very hands on,” she disclosed. “I want to go to the beach a few times, but I told them I don’t want to be here on tourist time. With my family I just want to be easy, cook some food, have a few laughs, and do some Christmas cleaning like old times,” Knight added.
