Rehabilitation of roadway leading to Riverton City Landfill to continue
Repairs to the roadway leading to the Riverton City Landfill are to continue in the new fiscal year, with an allotment of $30 million in the 2015/16 Estimates of Expenditure.
The project seeks to improve the utilisation of the Riverton Landfill and reduce the down-time and operating costs of garbage trucks.
Rehabilitation of the two kilometres of roadway will include: preparation of the existing road surface; construction of drains along the roadway; construction of the concrete pavement; and maintenance of the concrete pavement.
The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, through funding from the Government of Mexico.
It was originally scheduled to run from April, 2014 to March, 2015, but following an extension, is now slated to end in March, 2016.
