Kingston attorney, Patrick Bailey, has been charged with forgery and conspiracy to defraud in relation to the sale of a property in 1996.

He was taken into custody today and granted one million dollar bail.

Head of the Fraud Squad, Superintendent Anthony McLaughlin, says it is alleged that Bailey was retained by Stafford Dixon to sell a property valued at 25 million dollars.

It is alleged that Bailey instead transferred the property to a company.

He has been offered bail in the sum of $1 million with surety and is to appear in court next week.

Bailey’s arrest follows those of two other prominent lawyers who have also been charged for fraud.

Attorneys Harold Brady and Michael Lorne are before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on allegations of defrauding millions.
