Carreras Gets New Corporate Office

Last Wednesday saw the official opening ceremony for Carreras' new offices now located at 13A Ripon Road in New Kingston. The celebration marked the company's historic relocation from Twickenham Park, St Catherine, after 53 years.

Marcus Steele, managing director, said, "That journey has not been without some amount of nostalgia," noting that, "13A Ripon Road is our new home and from here we will continue our tradition of excellence, strengthening our relationship with all our stakeholders, continuing our commitment to demonstrating good corporate citizenship, empowering others in need where we can, and, all told, supporting and playing our part in nation building."

The ceremony's programme included remarks from Warren McDonald, president of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce; Dennis Chung, CEO of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica; and Andrew Long, area director for British American Tobacco, Caribbean and Central America.

Among the invited guests were ministers of government, members of parliament, heads of private-sector businesses, Carreras staff members, pensioners and former employees.
