The Office of the Contractor General (OCG) is investigating the award of contracts for street cleaning by the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA).

Chairman of the NSWMA, Dennis Chung, confirmed the developments after the OCG seized several documents this morning from the agency's headquarters on Half-Way Tree Road in St Andrew.

Chung says the documents cover the period 2010 to earlier this year.

According to him, the probe was initiated by the OCG and not the solid-waste agency.

The NSWMA board chairman also said he was not sure whether any employee of the agency has been questioned in the probe.
