Cable and Wireless Communications, through its local brand in Jamaica, has pledged its commitment to continuing the partnership with its dealers and other stakeholders in Jamaica.

At a glitzy gala awards ceremony Wednesday night to honour its 'Power Partners' which make up the dealer network, C&W Communications firmly committed to long-term investment in Jamaica through its dealer network.

Managing Director for the combined LIMEFlow operations in Jamaica, Garry Sinclair, noted that the company has built its dealer network through hard work and will continue to grow this aspect of the business.

"Five years ago, I really wondered if we would ever be able to develop an excited and energised dealer team. Well, after billions of Jamaican dollars of investment in our networks, a couple of key regulatory breakthroughs, several winning prepaid mobile propositions and marketing campaigns that resonated with the public, we've gone from under 300,000 active mobile subscribers then to nearly 900,000 subscribers today.

"And from US$40 million in mobile revenues then to over US$70 million in revenues today," Sinclair declared.

more plans to come

Sinclair said more plans will be outlined to continue on the growth path for the company in Jamaica. He said the company would continue to honour its dealers and partners in several ways in the future.

"Engaging you is key. And tonight we're officially registering our appreciation for tenacity, impatience with mediocrity, and innovation of our dealer network, which has helped to propel our business to where it stands today and to where it will go in the future," Sinclair concluded.

C&W Jamaica rolled out the red carpet and fÍted 35 of its top-performing dealers from across the island, in recognition of their long-standing support, excellent service delivery, contribution to the growth of the sector and to the C&W success story.

Some 35 awards across eight distinct categories were presented to large and small dealers who have enabled the growth of the sub-sector within the telecoms industry, from top-up sellers to full-service providers.

Super J Cellular copped the top prize of the night - Most Outstanding and Business Centric Dealer.

The gala awards ceremony took place at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston.

The company also launched its new brand to its dealers and partners.
