Technical issues at May Pen tax office, IT system down
Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising the public that the May Pen Revenue Service Centre will not be fully operational due to a technical issue.
TAJ says a decision was taken to shut down the Information Technology (IT) system in a move to protect the equipment from any damage.
The situation at the location will also affect operations of the Customer Care Centre.
Technicians are working to have the matter resolved as quickly as possible.
However, transactions which can be facilitated manually are being accommodated.
The TAJ says Customer Service staff is available to guide persons visiting the office.
In the meantime the public is being advised to use the Spanish Town, Portmore or Mandeville tax offices or any other tax office locations to carry out their transactions.
Several services may also be accessed through the TAJ Enterprise Tax Portal at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.
