Jamaica is to further relax the visa requirements for nationals of select Latin American countries who make short-term visits to the island.

Cabinet has approved an amendment to the conditional waiver visa requirement for holders of a passport from El Salvador, Paraguay, Peru, Bolivia, and Guatemala to visit Jamaica for 30 days or less for tourism purposes.

The new amendment removes the need for nationals from those countries to be in a possession of visa from either the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or hold a Schengen visa in order to benefit from a visa waiver to enter Jamaica.

Jamaica recently introduced conditional waivers for nationals from several Latin American and eastern European countries as part of efforts to tap into those markets for Jamaica’s tourism.
