Corporate Hands: Wards of the state get scholarships

Published:Tuesday | September 29, 2015 | 12:00 AM
Children Of Jamaica Outreach (COJO) founder and chairman Gary Williams (centre) poses with this year’s recipients of the COJO scholarship award, Alex Arnold, Moesha Wollery, Tanegea Campbell and Patricia Brown. The scholarship will assist in defraying tuition expenses for these outstanding wards in state care.

Four deserving wards of the state enrolled in tertiary institutions are the beneficiaries of the goodwill of Children Of Jamaica Outreach (COJO) Inc, a New York-based Jamaican charity, established in 1994 by Gary Williams as a way of giving back to his homeland.

This year's beneficiaries are Tanegea Campbell, who will be attending Northern Caribbean University; Patricia Brown, currently enrolled at the University of the West Indies; Alex Arnold, a student at Montego Bay Community College; and Moesha Wollery, who will be attending Moneague Teachers' College.
