Boy's Town to celebrate 75 years next month
The long-standing Jamaican institution Boys' Town will celebrate its 75th anniversary next month.
To observe the significant achievement, the institution is to embark on a calendar of events highlighting Boys' Town's contribution to Jamaica's growth and development, through sound educational, social and economic opportunities for the youth and communities it serves.
The anniversary celebrations will get going on Sunday with a church service at the Lyndhurst Methodist Church, beginning at 8 a.m.
In a release, Boys' Town said it believed strongly in its mission, 'We Build', which was outlined and fostered by its founder, The Reverend Hugh Sherlock, "who passionately and tirelessly worked towards building the human spirit one person at a time though education, culture and sports".
As Boys' Town marks its 75th anniversary, it said the community continues to embrace this philosophy of transformation.
