GRANVILLE, St James:

Calling it the "dollar grind", Opposition spokesman on Finance Audley Shaw on Sunday night crushed the stewardship of the Finance Minister Dr Peter Phillips for what he regarded as the devaluation of the Jamaican dollar.

"If the IMF (International Monetary Fund) tell him to jump him seh 'how high?'. The IMF turn him inna fool and him devalue the Jamaican dollar," Shaw said of Phillips at a JLP rally in Granville, St James.

According to Shaw, a former Minister of Finance, the economy has not grown since the PNP took power.

"The 0.02 per cent growth that has reported is lower than the growth of the population," he stated.

Shaw questioned the basis of the PNP's promise to provide 100,000 jobs given the current rate of growth.

According to Shaw, it is a job scam, similar to the lotto scam.
