Jamaica has fallen a further three places on the United Nations Development Programme's Human Development Report.

The report, which ranks countries according to the Human Development Index (HDI) was released today.

Last year, the country recorded a fall in the rankings by 11 places and was ranked 96.

This year, Jamaica was ranked 99 out of 188 countries

The HDI measures the quality of life using statistics drawn from life expectancy, education levels and incomes.

The index places 188 countries in four categories – very high human development, high human development, medium human development and low human development.

Despite the fall in rankings, Jamaica continues to be ranked as a country with high human development.
