A woman has been charged following the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition on the Coral Gardens main road in St James yesterday.
She is 26-year-old Tesia Jenkins, otherwise called ‘Indian’, of Bounty Hall, Trelawny.
The Coral Gardens Police say about 4:35 yesterday afternoon a police team was conducting a Vehicular Check Point operation along the roadway, when the driver of a taxi with four passengers aboard was signalled to stop.
He complied and the vehicle and its occupants were searched.
Jenkins was found with one Smith and Wesson pistol, a magazine containing two rounds of ammunition and a bag with five rounds of ammunition.
The police say they are continuing their investigations.
