There was a major drug bust in the parish of Trelawny last evening.

The police report that 1,400 pounds of ganja with a street value of $10 million was seized during an operation along the Salt Marsh main road.

It’s reported that the driver of the vehicle, in which the drugs were found, eluded the police and is still being sought.

The Trelawny Police say a team was conducting vehicular checkpoint duties when they signalled the driver to stop.

He reportedly disobeyed and led the police on a chase before abandoning the vehicle.
