Stop passing dirty remarks about each other!
Hello mi neighbour! One of life's cardinal rules is that we should not do unto others anything which we would not want others to do unto us. It's a cardinal sin to live contrary to this rule. We pass our place, therefore, whenever we pass dirty remarks about others then become offended whenever dirty remarks are passed about us. Human nature? Well, herein lies a big problem.
The fact that negative tendencies are common to all human beings does not make them acceptable. They destroy rather than build. In a marital relationship, for example, couples quarrel. And those quarrels often lead to separation, eventual divorce, and destruction of a family and creation of enemies. See what I mean? And usually that's not what people desire.
The wise Creator who endowed humanity with the capacity to appreciate and desire healthy relationships also fitted us with the capacities to foster them. Where these capacities are not strong, opportunities to build them are everywhere.
Some means by which we can foster healthy relationships are through (1) Honesty: This essential ingredient beautifies relationships. It helps people to be truthful and completely open to others. Openness is the hallmark of all good relationships. (2) Forgiveness. Since it's our nature to make mistakes, we all need forgiveness. Where there's no forgiveness, resentment rules, and resentment destroys all relationships. (3) Communication is a key to great relationships. All relationships have disagreements, but partners who communicate effectively will weather any storm.
As we foster good relationships, we must also display trust as no relationship survives without this ingredient. Trust which deepens over time allows parties to be at ease without the fear of being judged by the other. Patience must also be on board. This helps to deal with partners' issues and imperfections, especially during rough times.
May the following poem help you to build good relationships with others.
Love & Trust
"Love is something
we all cherish dearly.
When we lose it,
our hearts ache severely.
Trust is something
we share with a few.
It requires honesty,
and a heart that is true.
Love without trust
is foolishly blind.
It's easy to lose,
and easy to find.
Trust without love
is often quite fake.
It won't give much,
but will happily take.
Love and trust
go hand in hand.
When together,
this dance is quite grand"

Mi neighbour, let's vow today to desist from passing dirty remarks about one another because while these remarks may make a point while bringing temporary satisfaction, it could to take a lifetime to undo their damage. Can you imagine the quality of life we would all experience if we loved our neighbours as ourselves and were willing to do unto others as we would have them do unto us? "All things are possible to those who believe."
And would you be kind enough to help someone from the list below?
