Labour Day Activities on today

 

Victoria Mutual Building Society will be:

• Painting, planting of vegetable garden, and grooming residents at the Eira Schader Home for the Aged, 32-38 Upper First Street, Trench Town, starting at 8 a.m.

• Painting Tulloch Primary School, Knollis Main Road, Bog Walk, St Catherine, beginning at 10 a.m.

• Doing general cleaning at the Mandeville Primary and Junior High School, 6 Caledonia Road, Mandeville, starting at 9 a.m.

• Working at the Park Mountain Primary School, Park Mountain Road, Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth, starting at 9 a.m.

• Painting the Freeport Police Station, Allice Eldemire Drive, Montego Bay, St James, starting at 9 a.m.

Guardian Life Limited will be undertaking repairs, refurbishing and beautification work at various locations:

• University Hospital of the West Indies, the John Homi Building (Intensive Care Unit) and Paediatric Ward - Guardian Life's Head Office

• Half-Way Tree Fire Station - Guardian Life Premier Centre branches

• Ocho Rios Primary School - Guardian Life Ocho Rios branch

• Savanna-la-mar Hospital - Guardian Life Montego Bay branches

• Ebenezer Home for the Elderly - Guardian Life Mandeville branch

Guardian General's sponsored Labour Day Project is at the Allman Town Primary School. This project will cover the following areas:

• Painting of all exterior areas of the school building

• Renovation of bathrooms

• Rewiring of some classroom

• Installation of rails along stairwells

• Renovation of garbage skip

• Donation of garbage bins

• Installation of safety signs

Digicel Foundation will be working at the:

• Blossom Gardens Child Care Facility in Appleton Hall, Montego Bay, St James

• Trench Town Agri-Business Cooperative Society Limited in Kingston

Petrojam Limited will be at the:

• Greenwich All-Age School, 82B Spanish Town Road, doing infrastructural repair to the restrooms, replacing classroom windows and doing repairs to the guard house.

Berger Paints will be lending their talents to:

• Beautification projects at the Seaview Gardens Primary School, Phase One, Seaview Gardens; and the Kingston Central Police Station, 50 East Queen Street.

Transport Authority will be:

• Upgrading the conference room, and cleaning and beautifying the nearby garden at the Melrose Primary and Junior High School, 3 Little Kew Road, Kingston.

Jamaica National Foundation will be:

• Having a Labour Day Clean-Up at the Kingston Public Hospital, North Street, Kingston.

The Urban Development Corporation will be:

• Working at the Early Stimulation Programme, 1A Ostend Avenue (Michael Manley Boulevard), East Kingston. Among other activities, the team will be bushing the rear of the school yard, fogging mosquitoes and spraying the area of rodents, pruning trees, and applying sand to the play area.
