The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) says it has launched a probe into the fatal shooting of two civilians during a police operation on Denver Crescent in Marverly, St. Andrew, early this morning.

The deceased men have been identified as 23-year-old twin brothers Rhamone and Ramesh Cummings of a Waterhouse address.

A team of 25 police personnel was on an operation in Marverly in search of wanted men and guns.

It is reported that the cops went to Denver Crescent and were met by two persons who allowed them access to the house.

However, after the police entered the house to carry out a search there was shooting.

INDECOM says it arrived on the scene soon after the incident and interviewed police personnel who were later served with notices.

INDECOM says the weapons assigned to the cops were also taken out of circulation and packaged for submission to the Government Forensic Laboratory.

Investigators also interviewed witnesses and processed the bodies of the deceased men.
