Sagicor recently presented proceeds of the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run 2015 to the Cornwall Regional Hospital Special Care and Paediatric Unit.

The event raised J$26 million, $16 million of which was used to purchase and retrofit the air-conditioning system, ventilator, incubator, respirator humidifiers and accessories, suction machines and other equipment for the Special Care Unit.

At last Thursday's presentation, president and CEO of Sagicor Investments, Rohan Miller, said that Sagicor Group is no "stranger to investing in the west as evidenced by our investments through our pension-managed funds. We believe that this kind of investment in health care for the children of western Jamaica is long overdue".

The hospital also received welcome and entrance signage, which were unveiled at the presentation ceremony.
