World champion Danielle Williams is safely through to this evening's 100m hurdles final at the JAAA/Supreme Ventures National Senior Championships.

Williams won her heat in 13.31 seconds ahead of the experienced Nickiesha Wilson, who clocked 13.49.

The pocket-sized Megan Simmonds was, however, the most impressive in advancing with a time of 13.06, which led all qualifiers.

Her place in the final presents a good opportunity for the former national age-group representative, who had to overcome the disappointment of falling during last year's trials.

Kimberly Laing, 13.52 took second place in that heat, with Shermaine Williams, 13.21 also booking her spot.
