The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) is to get a new general manager after Desmond Malcolm demitted office yesterday.

The UDC board says Deputy General Manager, Finance and Treasury, Donald Hamilton will act in the position, until a new appointment is made.

Chairman of the board, Ransford Braham says the new Board has been given the mandate for the Corporation to be a catalyst for further development across the island.

He says this mandate requires the injection of new leadership that will coalesce around a new vision to move the Corporation forward.

Braham says the board thanks Malcolm for his stewardship over the last four years and wishes for him success in his future endeavours.

He says he is confident the Corporation will continue to build on its mandate to make development happen for the people of Jamaica.
