JMMB among great places to work

JMMB Group’s Kerri-Ann Ferguson (centre), manager, organisational learning and development, shows two of the awards won by the JMMB Group from Great Place to Work Institute. Sharing in the moment are Juan Jose Monsant, sales manager for Central America, E&N Magazine, and Lesslie Perez de Davidovich, from Great Place To Work.

The Jamaica Money Market Brokers Group has been ranked by Great Place To Work (GPTW), among the top 20 places to work - in the Caribbean - receiving a ranking of 13 and 19, respectively, the only Jamaica- based company out of 41 companies from four Caribbean countries that participated in the survey done by Great Places to Work.

In addition to wellness, the organisation prides itself in providing growth to team members. Donna Duncan-Scott, group executive director of culture and human development, said, "We are elated to be recognised; this award serves as validation of the work that JMMB Group has been doing and will help us to benchmark ourselves against industry experts and other top-ranked companies globally."

Robert Levering, co-founder of Great Place to Work, said, "A great place to work is one in which you trust the people you work for, have pride in what you do, and enjoy the people you work with."

UNIQUE JMMB CULTURE

This principle is recognised by William Veloz, fund manager at JMMB Funds in the DR, who said, "The unique JMMB culture makes every aspect of work more pleasant, creative and full life."

As part of its obligation in creating a great place to work for its team, JMMB has also paid keen attention to the social, physical and mental wellness of team members to support work-life balance. This is manifest by the provision of child-care and gym facilities, or covering the cost where such facilities are not accessible to the team in the Corporate Area, and catering to its team's well-being by covering the full cost of health insurance premiums for all full-time team members, their husband/wife and their children, as well as access to free counseling services.

Michelle Falconer, business analyst, being a part of the JMMB team for 11 years, can attest to this, noting that JMMB is interested in the holistic development of its team. She explains that she began her career in the client care centre and has steadily been promoted into various roles, while being given the necessary training by JMMB to help her succeed.
