Rain, bad light delay West Indies reply to India in second Test

No play was possible in the final session of day three in the second Test between the West Indies and India at Sabina Park in Kingston due to rain and bad light today.

The umpires called off play at 5 p.m.

A drenched outfield had prevented a restart after an early tea break with India on 500 for nine declared responding the West Indies' first innings score of 196.

The West Indies are yet to start their second innings.

The Indian innings was marked by 158 by opener Lokesh Rahul, while middle-order batsman, Ajinka Rahane, was left unbeaten on 108.

West Indies middle-order batsman and part-time off-spinner, Roston Chase, claimed five for 121 in what was his second bowling innings in Tests.

He bowled once on debut in the first Test in Antigua last week and finished with figures of none for 102.

Play is slated to resume at 9.30 a.m Tuesday but could be further affected by the impending Tropical Storm Earl.
