The final day of the 2016 Denbigh Agri-Industrial Show came to a premature end today because of the threat of Tropical Storm Earl.

Earlier, rain also put a damper on the day's activities delaying the start of the closing ceremony.

President of the Jamaica Agricultural Society Norman Grant said the safety of patrons was the priority.

"Even though we would want persons to come out the to be a part of the Denbigh experience, our first point of duty is to secure life and property," he said.

As a result of the premature ending, the Digicel Rising Stars concert that was slated for tonight has been cancelled.
