Gomes welcomes Belize court ruling on law punishing homosexuality

Dr Carolyn Gomes, the Executive Director of the Caribbean Vulnerable Communities Coalition, has welcomed the ruling of the Belize court that the country's law punishing homosexuality is unconstitutional.

Gomes says the ruling will have positive implications for gay men in Belize and the wider region.

She notes that the court’s ruling reaffirms the human rights of gay men.
